For those of you who have been following my literary agent list, you know that I've contacted a boatload of agents. Although some of given "Corporate Ties" favorable responses, I have not obtained an agent.
Well, it's now time to move ahead without one.
I'd be lying if I claimed to not be dismayed. At the same time, I'm not terrible concerned, either. I don't expect the book to sell a million copies, and honestly, an agent is going to sign up only if he or she can make money off my book. So wouldn't it make more sense for me to focus my energy on cutting out all of the middle men in the book industry?
There are a few things I would have done differently during my agent search. For starters, I should have settled on fiction/non-fiction up front. Due to the type of information in the book, though, it makes more sense for me to write fiction. I wish I would have settled on this beforehand, especially because I have a pretty awesome non-fiction book proposal.
Anyway, I hope to have book release news in the coming months, depending on what my time allows. I may even spam you with 3-5 questions about the format you'd like to see the book (ebook, print edition, popup castle book). Regardless, "Corporate Ties" will be available for you to read in its entirety in the near future!
