Unfortunately, it appears that at least in the United States, there could be a tiered Internet in the near future, meaning companies with money will be able to have a better accessibility.
It's difficult to fathom, but members of the US House Energy and Commerce Committee voted against the net-neutrality amendment, 34-22. Why? Maybe it's because they don't understand the ramifications of extending power to Internet traffic companies like AT&T. But this serious issue needs to be understood better before it's too late.
