Some of you probably troll message boards from time to time, noticing how users will get hopping mad because a random person called them, or their favorite team, a bad name. If you continue reading the thread, you will probably notice other users taking both sides, and if you visit the same message board a few months later, there will surely be a similar thread with different people involved.
I guess people think it's easier to argue or call people names if they don't know the other people. The funny thing is, you might as well talk to your computer or your toaster. Is that other person really a person? It's not that difficult anymore to write a program to respond, based on certain keywords or phrases. I wonder if the same people would be so adamant about their points then.
Speaking of points, mine is the following: If you need to let out frustration, don't do it at the expense of a friend, online. If you're like me, you have a couple of good friends who are excellent at discussing things, who have valid points and are intrigued by a wealth of information. That sort of discussion is permissible, but just make sure it doesn't get too personal. Taking shots at people, especially online, can easily be misconstrued and are hard to deny at a later date. If a more personal conversation is needed, do it in person or over the phone.
