The advice section of these articles has taken an unexpected turn. I initially set out to help people with Internet-related issues, but the questions turned into something that resembled voting for your favorite color. So, I've restructured the idea in hopes of gaining actual advice that will be relevant to most people out there.
Our advice committee has shrunk to four people, but that still beats most advice columnists, who give their own advice without even thinking about the consequences. This week, we start with something fairly easy, and we'll try to work into something more philosophical in the future.
Question: What should I do with dumb forwards?
Lael: Send them back to the person who sent them to you 100 times, you know, for good luck.
John: My first inclination is to delete them immediately. I get enough stuff that I have to read, so there's no reason to waste my time fooling with that mess. However, if the same person keeps sending them then it might be time to have a little chat with them about it. If you know what I mean.
Amanda: Dumb forwards belong in the trash. Immediately after you read them (if you do read them), just click delete. No further action required.
Ben: First few times, delete them. Try to contact the person if they are getting on your nerves, but if he/she persists, send it to the trash.
