It's bad enough when you can't win a simple game of cards with your family. But when you're a poker champion and have to play against multiple bots colluding against you, well, it's time to take up something else, maybe shuffleboard.
The online gaming industry is huge across the world, and it has never been more visible than now, with poker tournaments being shown on every television station. I'm assuming they've had dogs playing poker on the Animal Channel, but I haven't witnessed it yet. The problem is, despite the fact that the players are, indeed, humans, they could be aided by poker bots.
From the Daily Mail and The Mail on Sunday, there were two articles recently written regarding online poker. The first article, "You'll never beat poker robots," states that a poker bot basically plays the game for you by scanning casino software on your first computer and playing your hands for you. Based on the strength of your hand, betting position and other factors, the bot will run through millions of scenarios to determine whether it should play.
In the second article, "We put the bots to the test ... ," the bot is shown making a decent amount of money every hour. Right now, the bots prey on most players who really don't know what they are doing, but as the technology improves, so will the bots.
If I were you, I'd just play poker against your dog and hope for the best.
