Although this occurred two weeks ago, the Evansville Courier & Press ran a little article about me and my book, "The Developers" just before my signing down there. The paper may do a review at a later date, but I was extremely pleased with Becky Coudret's article. Here it is:
Humor/ tech writer at Border's

Ben Woods calls himself a humor/technology writer - which has to be considered a new genre of literature.
Most people, he admits, don't usually think of computer geeks as being all that funny. But the former Owensboro, Ky., resident and Purdue University graduate says humor comes naturally to him.
The result of all that tech knowledge and humor is "The Developers," a novel about a little bit of everything - in the mode of "Seinfeld," with a helping of "Dilbert" on the side.
"I got into the computer side after the writing - I was a journalism major at Purdue - so I'm not the typical computer geek," he said.
Woods will be at Borders Books, 6401 E. Lloyd Expressway, from noon to 2 p.m. today to talk about "The Developers" and to sign copies of the book, which will be on sale ($13.95).
"It's just a natural thing for me to look for the humor in things that happen. I've seen so many technical manuals and books that make me wonder, 'Have these people ever left their cubicles?'"
There's a hilarious world that exists between individuals, between people and their jobs, and how they handle relationships at work and after hours, Woods said.
"The characters become tied together incidentally; they don't start out that way."
Woods said what makes the book an easy read is that a lot of the chapters can be read out of order "and you can still follow the story."
"The characters' stories and what they're involved in don't really have an order, so it's an easy book to read, put down and then come back to read."
Woods also will be selling and signing "The Developers" today from 4 to 6 p.m. at Owensboro's Beyond the Brim in Wesleyan Park Plaza.
