I change the radio stations more often than politicians change their minds. On one hand, it's great because I usually hear a large variety of songs, or at least parts of them. On the flip side, however, it's tough to hear all of the lyrics while constantly tuning different stations and wondering where all of the Social Security money is going.
Fortunately, there's a website for those channel changers out there. At The Song Tapper, all you have to do is press keys on your keyboard to the beat, and the computer will guess the song. Obviously, there are many beats that have been duplicated, so the site may pull up multiple listings. Or, if the song isn't listed, you can enter the one you've just heard, so The Song Tapper will get even smarter for the next music man.
Then again, you may still want to know just more than a specific song's melody. For instance, I couldn't understand why Lil' Jon keeps singing about "snappy bagels," until a friend alerted me that he was actually saying "snap ya fingers." If you're clueless about lyrics as well, try Am I Right to learn the correct words. My personal favorite is Elton John's "Tiny Dancer," which I could have sworn he was saying "Hold me closer, Tony Danza." After all, he IS the boss, and he probably knows where the Social Security money is going after all.
