I finally returned to the Purdue campus during the weekend, and it didn't take me long to realize how much I missed it. Even though it has been five years, and a plethora of new buildings have gone up all across Lafayette and West Lafayette, there were still plenty of things to reminisce about.
I started my tour in the Lawson Computer Science Building, which was just dedicated a few weeks ago. I met with many students and faculty members during "The Developers" book-signing event. At one point, there were three photographers taking pictures of me. It must have been a slow news day, because it really wasn't THAT exciting. If I were a photographer, I would have been taste-testing the refreshments that sat behind me. At least, that's what most of the students were doing.
There were many people who made this event, as well as the signing at Barnes and Noble the next day in Lafayette, possible. First, however, I'd like to thank Tim Korb for inviting me to the new building and remind me that Purdue is a pretty neat place. I spoke with many seniors who are already making plans for life after college. The biggest thing I should remind them is that no matter where you go, Purdue will nearly always be one of the biggest reasons you made it there.
